RE-LOADED LINKS

This is the most comprehensive anthology of music inspired by the Vietnam War to date. It comprises over 330 song titles covering all facets of the war and its aftermath with The Doors, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Country Joe McDonald and dozens other artists. It also contains documentary material rarely heard, including patriotic public service announcements, field reports and intercepted North Vietnamese radio broadcasts by Jane Fonda and Hanoi Hannah.
Accompanying the CDs is a richly illustrated, colorful book, with 304 pages containing extensive notes of artists and songs, the history of the Vietnam War and memories of the favorite songs of American veteran soldiers. In addition, there are two CDs with songs exclusively chosen by Vietnam veterans, as well as testimonies recorded by soldiers during the war that have never been released in the country before.
“Mister, Where Is Vietnam … Next Stop Is Vietnam: The War On Record 1961-2008” is a stunning anthology of the musical legacy of the Vietnam War. It consists of 13 CDs, along with the illustrated book with numerous photographs from archives, and depicts the war in a powerful and unprecedented way. A collection with more than 330 music tracks and recorded testimonials that will take the listener through a journey through this busy period of modern history. From America, from the so-called Vietnam, through the witty musical debate about the morality of war, to healing meditations in the long aftermath of the conflict, this ensemble captures everything and more: Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Merle Haggard, Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Phil Ochs, Johnny Cash, Yoko Ono, John Lennon, The Doors,
The book that accompanies the songs, full of information about the songs and the artists, was written by music scholar Hugo A. Keesing; the history of the war was made by the Vietnamese historian Lois T. Vietri; and the oral history of the songs that veterans loved most were researched and collected by Doug Bradley and Craig Werner. The introduction to this remarkable material was written by the legendary Country Joe McDonald. Embark on a long and fascinating journey … the next stop is Vietnam.
