Spinout ” is the twenty-seventh album from American singer and musician Elvis Presley , released by RCA Victor in October 31, 1966, being the soundtrack of 1966 film of the same name, in which the star is Elvis Presley.
This album follows the logic of other soundtracks of the time in Elvis’ career, that is quite simple songs. However, the bonus songs have a higher artistic level as well, “Down In The Alley”, “Tomorrow Is a Long Time” (Classic Bob Dylan) and “I’ll Remember You”. “Am I Ready” is the only original song album that deserves mention.
The recording sessions were performed at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, California, on 16 and 17 February 1966. This year, the album reached the Billboard Pop Albums tables at position No. 18.
“Spinout” was also released as a single in October 1966, with the theme “All That I Am” as its B-side. The single songs reached the tables in paragraphs 40 and 41, respectively, in the US Billboard Hot 100 and # 21 position and 18 respectively in the UK.
As a bonus, they have been together three studio tracks not related to the movie, including 2 of the best Elvis recordings of the decade, a Dylan track, “Tomorrow Is A Long Time” and an excellent subject R’n’B, “Down In The Alley “.
