Producer – Sergio Bardotti
Genre: Bossa Nova, Latin Jazz, MPB.
Chico Buarque and Ennio Morricone , is an interesting almost forgotten album, released by Chico Buarque with Morricone arrangements at the time of his exile in Rome in 1970 under the name ” Carnival Dream “.
The disk (in Portuguese) Chico with Morricone was released by RCA in three different times.
The first edition was the French, with the name ” Sambas of Brazil ,” presented here.
In Spain, sung in Portuguese edition was released with a cover similar to the Italian edition under the title “Por un Puñado of Samba”. And in 1975, the label “Brazil Original”, which at the time was editing records in Europe by artists like John Bosco, Martinho da Vila, The Originals Samba, relaunched the work focused in Chico.
The themes of Chico are great, but it is interesting arrangements of Ennio Morricone.
The work brings the cinematic drama of Morricone, an important moment of Chico Buarque, the time of exile. there are the organs that lead us to great cathedrals, woodwind arrangements and epic strings.
