Frankie Avalon (whose real name is Francis Thomas Avallone, September 18, 1940, Philadelphia / USA) is an American singer and actor of Italian descent, successful in music, film and television, especially in the 50s and 60s. only 17, he signed with Chancellor Records, at the time already had some fame in showbiz. As a child, Frankie played trumpet in the Jackie Gleason Show. In 1952 he recorded a single for RCA Victor. Avalon was also one of the members of the band Rocco and The Saints, a group that had Bobby Rydell as a drummer.
He and his colleague Fabian publisher (the Chancellor) achieved some successes through singles that reached the tables of successes.
Their debut LP presented here, it was released in February 1958, ” Frankie Avalon ” (LP Chancellor CHL-5001). The album contains his first success “De De Dinah,” whose single reached the position # 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and # 8 in the R’n’B charts.
